Roseland Crematorium: Tile Progress
18 February 2026
In July 2024, we welcomed Pyro + Echo to our studio for a CPD session focused on materiality and surface finishes. Following that introduction, we reconnected during the interior concept stage of Roseland Crematorium to help source the right floor finish for the scheme.
Working together, we selected large-format light grey terrazzo tiles to form the main flooring throughout the building, a choice that aligns with both the architectural language and the emotional tone of the space.
The terrazzo introduces subtle texture through its fine aggregate while maintaining a soft, neutral base. Its light tone helps reflect natural light, contributing to a calm yet dignified atmosphere.
We were recently sent progress images from Adam showing the tiles now installed on site. It’s always rewarding to see materials move from the sample stage into reality.
The scale of the tiles reads exactly as intended: expansive, calm, and refined. As natural light moves across the surface, the subtle flecks within the terrazzo gently animate the floor, adding quiet character without distraction.
