Planning Registered | Grace Church, Guildford

16 September 2026

We’re pleased to share that planning has now been registered for the proposed partial demolition, extension and refurbishment of Grace Church Chapel and 70–72 Chertsey Street, Guildford.

The proposals aim to support the growing congregation of Chertsey Street Baptist Church Trust, bringing the chapel and adjacent office building together to create a flexible, multi-use space for worship, community activities and office facilities.

The project will also introduce a level-access entrance, improved accessibility, additional facilities and a refreshed street frontage, while taking a sensitive approach to the historic, locally listed chapel.

The proposals are designed to support the church’s vision of Gathering, Growing and Going, creating a welcoming building that can serve both the congregation and the wider community for years to come.
