Planning Approved for Contemporary Extension and Renovation in North Marston
We are pleased to announce that we have received planning permission for a new extension, demolition and rebuild of glazed entrance porch, fenestration improvements and internal remodelling of a Georgian former farmhouse in the village of North Marston, Buckinghamshire. Planning permission was received within the eight-week planning timeframe. Technical work has already been completed in readiness for a start on site.
The existing dwelling is an impressive five-bedroom, three bathroom family home set in approximately 2.4 acres of gardens and paddocks. The new entrance has a large porch and extra wide door to provide a sense of arrival. Improvements internally include a large hallway with roof lantern above and glazed store wall, a new contemporary kitchen design and layout with a large opening onto the newly created living/dining space, a dedicated boot room and utility space and a master suite with dressing area and large ensuite.
The single storey new extension projects into the large garden and enjoys views over the grounds and paddocks. The extension has large roof lanterns centred over each space which include formal dining space and lounge area. French doors lead to a new patio area and provide a much-needed connection to the external spaces.
The design of the extension is contemporary yet sympathetic to the existing dwelling. It has a buff brick plinth and piers that tie the extension back to the main house, timber Georgian-style windows and doors to match the existing window styles, and a decorative stone parapet. The extension is a sympathetic addition that respects the house's character and setting while increasing floor space and creating a more contemporary layout.
