Overstone Leys Residential Development Approved at Committee
30 September 2026
Benchmark Architects is pleased to share that our proposals for a residential development at Overstone Leys have been approved at committee.
The scheme will deliver 35 high-quality new homes, alongside new open spaces, play areas and a multi-use games area (MUGA), creating a welcoming residential environment for future residents and the wider community.
The proposals feature a varied mix of building typologies, attractively designed streets and materials that take influence from the surrounding area. Generously sized gardens and a high-quality landscape strategy will help create an attractive setting for the new homes.
Sustainability, accessibility and biodiversity are key considerations throughout the development. Measures to reduce energy consumption, manage surface water and enhance biodiversity are also incorporated into the proposals.
The scheme has been designed to provide a safe and secure environment, with passive surveillance over the access road, while retaining existing site features and introducing enhanced green spaces for local residents to enjoy.
The approval represents an important step towards delivering much-needed, high-quality housing, supported by well-considered outdoor spaces and a landscape-led approach.
