Heritage Planning Success in Milton Keynes
We are delighted to announce that Benchmark Architects, in collaboration with Smith Jenkins Planning & Heritage, have successfully secured planning consent for a bespoke self-build dwelling in Milton Keynes on behalf of a private client.
The proposals will deliver a contemporary, low-impact, and sustainable home located within the grounds of a Grade II listed building, set in a picturesque village location. The design carefully balances modern living with sensitivity to the historic context, ensuring minimal impact on the setting of the listed property.
The application was approved under delegated powers as a self-build scheme and was granted an exemption from Biodiversity Net Gain requirements following detailed pre-application discussions and feedback. The submission was supported by a comprehensive heritage statement and landscape proposals prepared by Enplan.
The use of locally sourced materials and a context-driven architectural approach ensures the new dwelling complements and enhances its historic surroundings.
