Exploring Tile Innovation in Valencia
Last week, Pyro & Echo / Trimline Group invited Benchmark associates Emma Horne and Steve Mason to join them on an inspiring trip to Valencia, where they visited three leading tile manufacturers – WOW, Venux, and Ecoceramic. During their visit, they experienced the manufacturing processes and the impressive range of products showcased in their incredible showrooms.
Each showcased a unique approach to tile design and production:
• WOW – specialists in small-format, design-led tiles
• Venux – experts in large-format manufacturing
• Ecoceramic – renowned for its impressive large-format production capabilities
The tour offered a fascinating insight into the autonomous precision of modern tile manufacturing. From pressing and drying to printing, glazing, firing, and packaging – it was incredible to see how efficiently these processes are executed.
We were particularly amazed to learn that:
• A small-format tile can be completed in under two hours
• A large-format slab (up to 1.6 x 3.2m) takes just under three hours to produce!
The experience was not only educational but also a great opportunity to connect with passionate people, enjoy fantastic food & drink, and share ideas that will no doubt inspire future design work.
