Benchmark Architects Turns 9
This September marks a special milestone for us – Benchmark Architects turns nine.
From our beginnings in 2016, we set out with a clear vision: to design architecture that is both purposeful and inspiring, with a focus on creating meaningful spaces that serve people and place. Nearly a decade later, we’re proud to see how that vision has grown, evolved, and shaped projects across the UK.
Over the past nine years, we’ve:
• Delivered projects across multiple sectors - from residential and commercial to community and specialist architecture.
• Expanded our studio in Milton Keynes, building a talented team who share our passion for design and innovation.
• Embraced sustainability, technology, and creativity to push boundaries in the way we design and deliver architecture.
• Built lasting partnerships with clients, consultants, and collaborators who continue to trust us with their visions.
• Been honoured with industry recognition - our project The Waterfront in Poole won three prestigious categories at the UK Property Awards 2023-2024; and Oak Hill Lawn Crematorium was a finalist in the 2024 AJ Architecture Awards.
As we celebrate this anniversary, we’re reminded that architecture is never just about buildings - it’s about people, stories, and impact.
Looking ahead, our focus remains on growth, innovation, and design excellence. We’re excited to take on new challenges, explore emerging opportunities, and continue creating spaces that truly make a difference.
And while we’re raising a quiet toast to nine years today, we’ve got our sights set on next year – when we turn the big 10. You can be sure we’ll be marking that milestone in style, with a proper celebration to thank everyone who has been part of our journey.
