Another Year of Being Carbon Neutral

We’re pleased to share that Benchmark Architects has remained a Certified Carbon Neutral business for another year, continuing our partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain.
Maintaining carbon neutrality is an ongoing process. Each year, we assess our emissions, take steps to reduce them where possible, and offset what remains, ensuring our day-to-day operations are aligned with a more responsible and sustainable way of working.
Alongside this, our commitment to planting a tree for every project we are instructed on remains in place. It’s a simple but meaningful initiative that contributes to wider efforts around carbon reduction, biodiversity, and environmental restoration.
Over the past year, we’ve continued refining how we work as a studio, looking at everything from energy use to operational efficiencies, to minimise our environmental impact. While these changes may seem incremental, they form part of a broader, long-term approach to sustainability.
Through its environmental projects in the UK and internationally, Carbon Neutral Britain supports initiatives that remove CO₂e from the atmosphere, including reforestation programmes that also help restore ecosystems and create habitats for wildlife. Being part of this allows us to contribute to positive environmental action beyond our immediate operations.
As an architectural practice, we recognise the wider role we play within the built environment. Our focus remains on embedding sustainable thinking into both our business and our projects, as we continue working towards a lower-carbon future.
