2020 was not an easy year for anyone, but we definitely had some wins amongst the challenges; one of which was the continued growth of our team. We are thrilled to welcome back an early Benchmark team member – Mark Mercer. Mark is an extremely experienced technician, who was part of the original line up in 2017.  Mark has spent the last two years working on the design side for a large UK contractor and re-joined us in the Autumn in an associate position.

‘My background is in technical development and delivery of commercial projects ranging from hotels, apartments and student accommodation to crematoriums. The working environment at Benchmark is what attracted me back and I’m pleased to say that it hasn’t changed one bit.  It’s been a pleasure to see old faces again and get to know new ones and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what 2021 brings.’

It’s a breath of fresh air to have Mark back. He is an extremely talented technician who delivers time and again with exceptional knowledge of large scale development projects. He brings with him a positive vibe and another tally for the Marks – as we now have three!

In the Autumn, we also recruited a new Architectural Assistant, Helaena. Helaena joins us after graduating with a first-class degree in Architecture from London Metropolitan University in 2020. Helaena additionally has a bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design from Nottingham Trent in 2018, which included a year’s placement at an architectural firm in New York.
