Planning Submitted for Residential Scheme in Luton
At Benchmark Architects LTD, we have submitted a planning application for a new residential development in Luton that will provide 15no. residential dwellings and associated amenity areas, ancillary spaces including plant space, refuse and cycle stores.
The proposed design will be car-free, promoting pedestrian movement and connectivity with the surrounding area and Luton.
The street and public realm will be significantly improved with active frontages, low brick walls and planting to soften the hard streetscape along Hitchin Road. The apartments will provide passive surveillance of the street and improve activity throughout the day and evening. The design of the proposal has been carefully considered to sit well within the streetscape and respond positively to the existing and approved built form in terms of mass and scale.
The design proposals will incorporate local brick colours while using contemporary architectural detailing, cladding and window treatment on upper levels.
The proposal will create a vibrant addition to the area and much needed accommodation for local residents.
