An EXEMPLAR for Saint Gobain’s ‘Multi-Comfort Home’ Concept

A rare, yet very welcome opportunity to design a highly sustainable, bespoke family home by team Benchmark. The long-term sustainability credentials of this contemporary, four-bedroom house are of utmost importance to our client. The house has been designed in-line with the standards set out by Saint Gobain’s ‘multi-comfort home’ concept. These standards are similar to the renowned ‘Passivhaus’ requirements, which govern thermal, acoustic, visual, air quality and economic performance. We are working closely with Saint Gobain to showcase the project as an EXEMPLAR home – demonstrating this complete, sustainable approach to design.

The design combines traditional proportions and materials with modern detailing and high performing glazing and building materials. The first floor is organised around an open gallery landing space with glass balustrades, which looks back over a stunning double height hallway. There are high levels of natural lighting throughout the design; cascading down through the centre of the house from the roof and also, through the south facing rear façade which features extensive glazed sliding/pivoting panels allowing natural light to permeate deep into the living spaces.

We love working with people to create exceptional bespoke homes and this project is no exception! In fact, our client’s passion, knowledge and enthusiasm will ensure that the very highest quality is achieved. Watch this space now that Planning Approval is granted.
