17th Century Cottage Approved for Planning
This fabulous 17th century cottage has been approved for planning. The timber frame building was heavily ‘Georgianised’ and extended in the late 18th century. It then remained largely untouched until a rather unsuccessful north facing conservatory was added in the late 20th century.
Our client is preparing for a deep retrofit, with the removal of cement render, concrete floors and the cavity drains within the basement. Traditional and modern ‘breathable’ materials will be used to improve the thermal performance and air tightness of this family home, whilst ensuring vapour is not trapped within the fabric.
A new side extension will see a family kitchen and improved access to the garden whilst enhancing the character and setting of the historic home.
